Just watched that Canada - Slovakia game. Shit, this red maple leaf team is a fucking machine, I have to admit... Theres no thing in hockey that they havent did right in those 2 games at the cup so far. Brodeur makes great saves when called upon, and those powerplay units is just unfuckingbelieveable. Overall very confident team, hope Quinner wont screw something one day... Personally, I think Marten should have been the main man on the bench... But who knows the real situation.
As for Mario... Face it, he is the past. This Canada team is not about him, and he has been brought on the tournament just for superstar veteran presence.

I think he's been doing a pretty good job. He's not trying to hog the glory, and he's still a great puck handler / passer.

Maybe 10 years ago, but now he's just a broken down old man with a back made out of swiss cheese who can't take the ice for more than a minute at a time.
Shit, I cant wait for our opener, Russia - USA... Just about 20 hours to go. This sould be exciting... We have some young guys that here to prove things to people. And as always, watch out for Kasper!

Man, seriously... the amount you know about hockey wouldn't fit under the nail of my baby toe. I lived, ate, slept, and breathed hockey all of my life growing up. Played for over 21 years myself, don't talk shit about a guy who after all he's been through can still score goals, set up great plays, and rack up assists like Mario.
Christ this is laughable. A Texan talking about hockey.

And yet he was leading the league in points in 2002-2003 with a ridiculous 60 points in 35 games.
An old Mario who can't skate or shoot his legendary wrister is still an invaluable asset to the team. His vision, creativity and leadership more than compensate for the erosion in his skills. He pretty much set the tone for Canada in their first game when he jumped on Konowalchuk for running Brodeur.

Oh wow I kinda missed this and was all confused that there is another world championship since the last one was just in Prague. Unfortunately you can't see those games here in Latvia. Damn pretty good teams there.
However I am for Canada ever since Heatly bought me a bear and Anson Carter made a picture with my Girlfriend. We've met the whole Canada team in a Club at the 2003 Championships in Turku/Finland after the Canadians kicked our asses 6-1 that day.
As soon as I'll find the picture I'll post it.
