    Now isn't this a piece of shit person. ebay scam happening to me

    ok, many of you know I collect high end cig lighters.

    I bid this lighter

    and my bid cap was $2500. all week it stayed at $1150 (my bid) till the last second when someone came in and bid $2550.

    ok, i lost the lighter - no biggie.


    here's where it gets interesting. The NEXT day I get this email.

    You are the second bidder in my auction #3267232074
    Unfortunately the highest bidder has some problems with the payment. Let me know if you're still interested in this item. I look forward to hearing from you soon

                                                  Thats why you should always use a proxy bidding website . They don't charge much but your bid is only placed 6 seconds before the end of the auction .

                                                                                                      The fact that the high bidder backed out is suspicious, but it doesn't look like shill bidding to me. buylighter is obviously a lighter collector with a high feedback, and buys lighters from many different sellers:

                                                                                                      However, it could be a case of finding something out about the lighter after he won it...                                                                                                       I would personally ask her to relist it, and then not bid my max until the last 10 seconds of the auction.
