Newbie - got traffic no conversion

Hi All - Im very new at this - quit my job - made content - built site - submitted and GOT TRAFFIC but very poor conversion. Must be the poor quality of my site. Questions (a) I dont have Visa (because of the $750) - how bad is that ? (b) Can I ICQ chat with someone about the market and what it takes to convert traffic ?

yep - not the first mistake ive made and wont be the last - but it makes it more important that i make a living and join you guys in being good industry players

looks a bit ameteur - but thats because this is the first site i have ever built - first programming i have every done. I must admit i liked it.

like I said - I make mistakes - now I must make this work - Any constructive help - I see a few visitors from this board. Any thoughts on Visa ? I have search engines, other sites etc as the source of traffic - generally over 600 per day - using up my bandwidth, but only a small handfull of members. From page details I can see they are visiting most pages. I have also had a failed attach to login. Any suggestions on this site ?

I did - had fun - but I know it needs help. this was going to be a hobby but then the company I worked for sold (asset sale) and we all got screwed including no severance - so its now for real - AND I want it to work. So give me the constructive crits !!!!

how much SE traffic? 600 hits a day is burning your BW?
is your members area protected? is there a password out?

I am a newbie - What do you mean by 'traffic leak' ? I put these links in for SE purposes and thats where my traffic is comming from. Ive got links, and now google, yahoo, aol and msn search traffic is beggining to come. I am just not converting 1:3000 - it sucks

Yes I have got passwords on my members area - what a performance - this site is in .net because I want to eventually have members 'storage' area where members 'save' their 'good' clips and images and based on that I can '[recomend' they see yadie yadie - kinda like amazon - but I eventually had to write my own security system because aspsecured wouldnet work with .net etc etc. Long storry short - there is security and its not cookie based.

I have stopped the video replying - save bandwidth. Also I have quickly tried to change color and font size - make the 'path to pay' more visible.

Thanks and keep the suggestions flowing.

Is not having VISA a big problem ?

You should have built an AVS premium, this way you only had to worry about driving traffic that way...you need to read more about freesites,galleries,and other traffic resources.

Forget your paysite for now,it's just a waste IMO. and focus on reading about traffic,marketing etc.

do a google search on 'newbie webmasters resource' and go to the 2nd site listed and read what's there.

I have search engine position and I have some traffic - those are assets I have worked for and achieved. I need to convert that and let it build. I will redesign my site - perhaps loose the dark look and go to something light and crisp - tone down the warnings and get to the meet quickly. Live and learn. Guys any opinion on VISA ?

I can say with confidence that that is the worst site I have ever seen in my life. A surfer wouldn't want to join, a surfer would want to run away and hide. Forget the fact that you can't read any of the garbled text, you've got tons of exit links and a tiny join link that you have to hunt for.

Read what was posted up here. An AVS site is what you want. Go read this: http://www.vnwr.com/quickstart/index.html . Find a designer. A couple of hundred bucks on an AVS site will be money well spent if you're serious about this.

Good god, that site is horrible. I can't get over it.

Take time to read articles and tutorials. Since you have no idea what you are doing you may want to take a lot of time...

There are plenty of good resource sites, you just need to take the time to look.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Holy AIDS. I think I'm going to go cry now.

Here are my suggestions (probably shit everyone else has told you):

- Close the site and either come up with a simple site design, that doesn't make someone want to commit suicide when they look at it, or hire someone to design a badassed site for you that will have people ejaculating prematurely just looking at it. The way your site looks right now, you're lucky if your visitors don't die as a result of viewing your web site.

- Look into something other than a paysite to start off (i.e. go with webmaster affiliate programs and promote their content).

- See to it that you find a job, because you're not going to make an assload of money, if you don't have any to invest in the beginning.

- Stop crying and see to it that you get something going on your own. No one is just going to hand you a perfect site that gets heaps of traffic and runs well. You have to work just like you would have to in a job, except you get to look at funny-ass porn if you do it this way.

That's just my opinion and seeing that I'm a newbie here, I'll stuff my cakehole now.

Plugrush - Push ads, native ads, banners & pops. Buy & sell adult and mainstream traffic.

I would start with by making lots of free sites and promoting other peoples paysites from there...you know how to get some traffic thats good but send it to someone who can convert it....try Epic Cash or the program in my sig I do under 1:100 with both from free site traffic...build and submit sites daily...good luck

You'd better try to submit galleries and sites in TGPs and LLs at first. Work with different sponsors to learn how to convert traffic and only after a few months of hard work try to renew "your first site again".
