as soon as they start making phones that take images over 1 megapixel with at least some optical zoom, i'm never lug around a digital camera again.

When we go to a concert and try to take a few shots with our $300 Nikon Coolpix they come out like crap. Then the guy next to us is taking excellent pics with his $50 phone and sending them to people imediately.

When I was at the store, I was reading the description on a phone and I could've sworn it said it took 1 megapixel images...

Nice! But as a future photographer I don't like pics taking with a cell....quality is just too bad!!! I also think it has more disadvantages than advantages, except that the cell is quite small 2 care around...

Well, its true you're not gonna become ansel adams taking pics on a cell phone, I've still managed to snap some pretty decent shots on my phone. Plus, its something you'll always have with you - lots of time I forget my digital cam at home, and am glad I have my cell to take pics with
