I totally understand people that choose not to wear a helmet when they ride, it's just like not wearing a seatbelt when you drive. You should do it but most people do not want to, it should be your choice period. That's how I used to feel until 2 major things happend to people I know and love. First was seeing my 8 year old son getting into a head on collision on his 50 Raptor quad and watching him go over his handle bars and falling to the ground! As a parent it was the worst thing imaginable and I understood that this could happen if he was going to ride, but I also made sure that he was geared up before he stepped foot on that quad, Helmet, goggles, chest protector, and boots. Luckily because of what he was wearing he got up dusted his self off, shed a couple tears, looked at his bike to see if it was ok, and jumped back on it!

There is not doubt in my mind that if he would have not been wearing a helmet he would have been very seriously hurt! Another thing that happend to change my thought's on seatbelts and hemets, was that a close friend of Ramona's that was barley 20 years old got into a car accident on the freeway and died because she was not wearing a seatbelt. She was caring a passenger who was wearing a seatbelt and suffered a broken wrist! Before this incident it was impossible for someone to get me to put my seatbelt on and I had received several tickets for not doing so. After the passing of this beautiful girl i vowed to Ramona and my Son to always wear my seatbelt!
It is totally your choice in what you choose to do rather it be wearing a helmet when you ride or wearing your seatbelt. Think about the people around you who care about you and your safety, those are going to be the people that are really going to hurt when you are not around
