Was he born in your country or imported? I got offers from Canada and the US to bring back parrots that are indigenous to Costa Rica which are no longer wanted as pets (you got a lifetime friend there!). But this is not practical cos it *could* wipe out the local population because of disease and there is enough problems maintaining the population without some other infections creeping in.
If anyone wants a parrot - they have all kinds - there are "sanctuaries" in Canada and the US where you can collect one!
