growth: how fast is too fast?

I'm considering starting a studio in SoCal in addition to my current location in Sacramento. I'm curious though, how established should one realistically be prior to doubling in size? Looking at employee expenses, and studio costs, it looks relatively comfortable assuming everyone's efficient with their time right off the bat.

So I guess my question is, how fast is too fast when it comes to expanding?

And since I shoot mostly guys, are there any places that come to mind that are better than LA? Vancouver, Seattle, Phoenix, Los Vegas... I'd prefer to stay on the west coast.

Expand the existing place so you can keep an eye on everything, as soon as you get multiple locations its downhill.....

I'm expanding in another city because I'm not finding enough models for the appetites of my customers. Expanding in my current location wouldn't help me.

Why not try San Fran instead of Sacramento?

WTF no more models in sacramento

You have drained the whole sacramento supply eh

That sucks. I think its time for you to hit the border .. And the north one not the taco bell one.

regarding growth.... moving fast is key to success. Big steps will get you ahead, but can hurt you as well.
