Paypal also sends a notice to the person with the email address telling them if they would like to pick up the cash, they can sign up for a PayPal account. They always want to make a buck. ;)

I recently got a nickel from board posting somewhere that I had used an address other than my PayPal to register. I got a notice from PayPal to register or add the e-mail to an existing account. I added the account to my PayPal and was instantly credited the nickel...won't spend it all in one place

my mother in law did this once, you have to file claim with paypal that you sent to the wrong address...took 1.5 months to clear up

I think if no one claims it after 30 days it gets sent back to you.
