    Beer In Aluminum Bottles

Pittsburgh BrewingCompany, makers of Iron City beer, unveiled a new aluminum beer bottle at a news conference in Pittsburgh, Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004. The brewery has partnered with Alcoa Inc., the world's largest aluminum maker, to produce aluminum bottles that keep beer colder for longer, Alcoa officials said.

    Cheers!

      Hmmm interesting.

Hey have you ever noticed that beer out of a bottle is better than beer out of a can but beer out of a tap(a big can) is better than beer out of a bottle. Why?
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60. Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

because light kills beer, that's the reason for dark bottles.. But are they really bottles if they are aluminum?

Well lets see glass is a better retainer of cold than aluminum in general. It is why bottles stay colder than cans do.
So unless it has an vacum air pocket between layers like a thermos I do not see how it would stay cool longer.

                    That's what I was thinking
It would also mean less room for beer in the 'bottle'

Unless it is a bigger bottle with same inside volume. Then its brilliant.

Only one thing could make it more brilliant. A small bladder near the bottom of the bottle full of CO2 that is popped when you undo the bottle cap. Walla warm to icy cold when opening, and due to thermos vacum of bottle it could stay cold for up to an hour or two.

cans of stout have been using the co2 bladder idea for over a decade that I know of... maybe even longer

As for the thought of beer sitting in aluminum, I hope it's coated inside because aluminum causes alzeimers disease and memory loss.

As for the thought of beer sitting in aluminum, I hope it's coated inside because aluminum causes alzeimers disease and memory loss.

As for aluminum and alzeimers, umm that is old data.

Heineken has been doing this for about a year and a half now. The upper tier clubs and lounges in Boston all carry them.
