i have pretty much the same set-up and get about the same type of birds....and squirrels
my favorite is the doves, especially the sound they make when they fly up from the ground
I have several regular bird feeders and I put up the hummingbird feeders during the spring and summer. I get cardinals, titmouse, blue jays, chickadees, sparrows, and sometimes finches and other song birds. My trees are loaded with 3-4 different kinds of woodpeckers also.
If you're having a problem with squirrels, try safflower seeds. My squirrels WILL eat them, but they don't like them as much as regular bird food. Apparently the 1 billion acorns the squirrels buried over the fall are running out as they've been hitting the feeders over the past week more than usual.
The raccoons and deer also get into the feeders, but the black bears are asleep until the spring. They also don't like the safflower seeds very much, so I don't have to bring my feeders in every night like I did with the regular food.

Originally posted by Gabriel Im not used to those birds. We got nothing but crows here. I fucking hate them, They are smart and loud.
I HATE crows. So does my female dog. I bought a bird CD so I could tell which ones I was hearing and put it in the CD player. My male dog spent the entire CD trying to get into the player to get the birds, but when the crows started on it, my female ran to the front door (it's all glass, so they can see out it) and started barking and jumping like mad.
I like them as well, they clean up the seeds from the ground
love the bottom feeders...squirrels, doves, sparrows, magpies, etc
keeps the more colorful birds up on the feeders in my sight line
since moving to the prairies i can't get enough of the magpies, i know people hate them, but i find them to be extremely smart and they amuse me with their mischevious antics
