Teaching Kids To Hate Cops

I almost got hit by a cop on a cellphone today. Was crossing the street as a pig was flying by in his quad car... He was doing about 60 where he should have been doing 45 and the pig was on the phone.

brings me to my favorite subject, teaching kids to hate and disrespect cops.

how many of you parents teach your kids how to deal with law enforcement pigs.

I teach my kids that no one is above the law, including police officers, and that you deserve the same respect that you show someone else.

But I would never teach my kids to hate or to cheer another's death. How exactly is that better than a power hungry corrupt cop ?

Exactly. They are a different breed. Haven't met one I liked yet. (living in a small town you get to know them all)

I have some respect for the ones in the city dealing with gangs and murders and what not, but the ones around here are just tax collectors... and the people that you have to call as a formality before you can call your insurance company when your shit gets stolen.

Are there bad cops? Of course.

Are they all bad? Absolutely not.

Are you going to label entire groups based on a few bad apples? That's usually called discrimination.

The poster that said something about hating cops being a high school type attitude is right. Intelligent individuals actually THINK about situations. Do cops have bad attitudes from time to time? Wouldn't you if you had to deal with scum on a daily basis?

I teach my son that cops are good. I will always teach him that. Only people that have something to fear from police will hate them.

My best friend's man is a cop. He is a really cool guy, we see him at the clubs in Hollywood sometimes. He rolls with a pack of tattooed cops, they go out and have contests to see who can score the most with married women. Somehow she became victim, now has a cops baby.

Wow. Thats a pretty broad statement. Not to mention the fact that it isn't true.

I'm friends with several cops and I don't think that one of them believes that they're above the law.

One of my good friends (an ex-marine and a sniper on the local swat team) is a good example. He gets more disgusted everytime there's another story about a corrupt cop he's ready to leave the force (he thinks this part time job of mine is "cool" ). However, I know he does his job because he honestly likes it.

Of course, he isn't one of the guys you see pulling over everyone and their grandmothers for innane stuff either. He's one of those that gets sent in to close down crack houses and break up hostage situations.

I think the majority of Cops are good, honest people, who do what they do because they'd like to make a difference in society. Its the fringe (that exist in every occupation, I mean, look at some of the people who frequent this board) that give the group the bad image.

Besides, teaching your kids to hate anyone is wrong.... they should learn it on their own.

Everyone has bad experiences with cops, shit happens, they're better in the long run. I am very glad to have my law friends. I golf and party with U.S. Marshal's, State Cops, ATF agents, etc. If you heard half of their stories you would stuff your silver spoon in you mouth and shut up.

its hard not to hate cops, but kids you gotta stop the hate.

Without cops life would suck. Cops are there to protect and serve.

If you want to stop bad cops. Take a stand. When a cop hassles you and tries pulling a power trip on you. CALL HIM ON iT.

How many people have ever been treated unfaairly by a police officer ? now how many of those have reported it ?? not very many.

Next time a cop pulls you over and is being an asshole, tell him " look pal , i pay your salary and so do all the good folks watching you right now , so you better have a good explanation for your actions. " you might be suprised how helpfull they become ( or handcuff you and beat the shit out of you )

There are other ways to deal with bad cops who abuse their authority, but those can't be discussed here

The one thing i have noticed all around the planet , is cops respect money. If you make more than a cop they are your best pal, if you make less than a cop they are your worst enemy.. Thankfully cops in north america aren't paid very well ( for the most part ) So it makes much more sense channelling that hate into a good job and owning a cop..

Do you get your drugs from cops too?

I can't talk too much shit, I get the best chronic from my LAPD friends. They swing by my place every day ironically at around 4:20 and we all get high on my patio.

I'm actually afraid to see what happens at the golf course on a Sunday. I see these guys during the week and they are so stressed out and ready to shoot someone already by Wednesday. I can only image what they are like on the lord's day.

he pulled up to intersection, was on the phone.

was looking one way, turning another, pushed gas almost spinning tires and having to hault to stop for me to cross but he sped around me and kept going.

LAPD has shoulder mounted raidos.... this was a CELLPHONE...
