The term "Pornstar" - Amateurs who think they are pornstars

I had a conversation the other day about women who have done a shoot or 2 and tell people they are pornstars. If chick sucks dick, fucks, or does a sexual act on film, they always tell people they are a pornstar.

Does that mean if I play guitar, I'm a rockstar?

Why do they try to call themselves stars? Am I a webmaster star?

I tried to argue this on a surfer board. Someone like Jenna Jameson is a Pornstar....JR Carrington is an actress...it is the difference in fame....You dont associate George Clooney with some guy in a soap opera.

I have always wondered that myself. Maybe they say they are PornStars because that sounds more important than "I am just content for a website."

But hey, people who shoot commercials say they are actors, so why not. Whatever sells. It's all about the money.

I found the same thing. Personally, I just think of myself as a woman with a website.. that makes me an amateur, sine I don't work with any big porn companies. I met a relatively new amateur in Vegas though who walked around telling everyone I was a porn star. I mean come on people, I'm hardly a porn star.

I'd say it's an exposure thing.

A girl can do 1 scene in 1 movie and everybody is talking about her, or she can work 2 movies a week for 5 years and still be carpet muncher #2 in the credits.

I'd say personally if a million people in the world know your name you have the right to claim to be a star.

Amatuer status should be the same way, ...no offense indented, but Jen is no longer allowed as an amatuer on any of my TGPs. She's somewhere inbetween.
