Ok. Today the Kerry camp decided to press the Swift ad issue to the Bush camp by sending former U.S. Senator Max Cleland to Crawford, TX in order to deliver a letter signed by 9 Veteran U.S. Senators demanding that Bush personally comdemn the Swift Boat ads. Bush refused to meet with Cleland who was wheeling around the Bush ranch in his chair. Cleland was severely injured in Vietnam losing both legs and an arm. Cleland called Bush out saying the President was directly behind the ads. This has been further developing since the resignation of Bush's legal advisor this morning. Oooooo awesome drama.Make Levees, Not WarComment

Swift Boat Vets is such BS- I mean, no matter which side of the fence you're sitting on- the fact is none of these guys were on Kerry's boat, they don't know went down. Everyone who served "with" Kerry, and defining with as in the same unit, praises him.
When Kerry came back he fought to oppose the war, and this pissed some people off. They have a right to state they feel betrayed, but those ads are misleading. None of those men have ANY first hand knowledge of Kerry's service. What a crock.
I admire McCain for also comming out against the ads. When Bush was running in the primaries against McCain he tried to do the same shit to him, a former POW. Nice.

The guy could not even keep his job in the Senate, his constituants threw him to the curb. It is VERY difficult for a sitting Senator to lose an election.

If Bush is to codemn the swift boat vets, then Kerry should codemn MoveOn.org and all the other left wing groups who have been compairing Bush to Hitler.Comment

Moveon is almost like the green party- before Kerry even threw his hat in the ring they were running those rediculous "What Would Jesus Drive" commercials. I respect Moveon as an anti war outfit, but their other politics are sometimes on another plane.Originally posted by Mike AI

We can't forget that 2 members of the bush campaign have had to resign because of their involvement with swift boat, it's beyond special interest.Comment

MoveOn is being funded by billionaire Soros who has a personal act to grind against Bush. I am not even sure if Soros is a US Citizen, yet he is pouring millions of his own money into trying to determine the ourcome of the US Presidential race.Originally posted by ShellyCrash

moveon is ANTI BUSH, PERIOD. They had time to attack Bush because he was sitting President.
If Kerry was sitting President I am sure similair groups from the right would have been doing same thing to him.
It goes both ways. Both sides have their pitbulls....
For Kerry to whine and cry about it is silly. Bush has not said one word and has been savaged since he won election.
What is good for the goose, is good for the gander.
In many ways its like GFY. The people who want to talk smack are too chicken to risk their asses, or their business so they get other people ( or anon accounts) to attack their competition.Comment

hard to condem the truth even if it is slanderous.
the swift boats were another deliberate attempt from the bush camp to purposely mislead the american people..... it started before he was elected, and has snowballed every sinceGot any domains to sell?

Compairing Bush to Hitler is not a fact, its an ad hominum attack.
It could be said moveon.org i a secret orginization who hides the names of hte people behind it.
The swift vets are putting their names and reputations on the line. 240+ people who dealt with Kerry while in Vietnam.... not all of them can be Bushies can they??
It goes both ways Joe. If you codemn swfit boats, condemn moveon..Comment

Mike AI. Kerry did condemn the MoveOn Hitler ad immediately after McCain had made the request of him. On the other hand, Bush hasn't.

I dont usually get involved in Politics on the message boards....but can I make just one small observation.....
I find it amusing that the Kerry supporters *from our industry* are asking someone to stifle free speech. Hmmmm.
As an aside, just note that Bush cannot win in this debacle.....If he doesnt ask this group to pull their ad then Kerry/Edwards are going to continue this posturing. If he does ask them to pull the ad and they oblige then Kerry/Edwards are going to come out and say "See, I told you the Bush camp was behind these ads all along. They approved their start and they approved their end"
It is a no win for the Bush Camp.

Really? Can you define "irresponsible speech" for me? Who determines if something is irresponsible? I bet I could find a few irresponsible adult sites just following links in this thread....should they get shut down for being irresponsible?
Note that I am just asking questions for your perusal.

Just another point to ponder.....
If it were a lie, then why hasn't the DNC just filed suit for Slander or Libel and just get a TRO. It would be a 30 minute process if it were clearly a lie, would it not?

kerry's getting his ass handed to him for lying about his war record and then running on it.
so now, after the DNC called Bush a deserter, moveon.org and others slandered Bush and it just rolled off his back, they want to cry foul when the swift vets rip holes in kerry's fake record.
kerry: "I was in cambodia for christmas. its etched my mind and is something I'll never forget"
reporter: "um, mr kerry, the records show you where somewhere else for christmas"
kerry: "how dare you attack my war record?"I'm not a dinosaur, I'm a crocodile. I've seen dinosaurs come and go and I'm left unimpressed.Comment

It's like this, say a few of my friends and I make a bogus website against "pornstar A" saying we worked with "pornstar A" and we think "pornstar A" is a real scumbag / unreliable / bad for the business.
Now none of us have ever done any business dealings with "pornstar A"- none of us have even met "pornstar A", we're just in the adult industry at the same time as "pornstar A" and these are our opinions based on what we heard.
Now let's say a few of my friends and I work for "pornstar B"- do you really think "pornstar A" isn't going to slap us with a liable suit?Comment
