My humble introduction (AskJolene)

Hi all,

I?m a newby in the adult market. My name is Jolene and I provide the biggest adult search engine on the net. Over 500.000 galleries, daily updated. (http://www.askjolene.com). I have more then 200.000 visitors a day. I know.. that?s not much if you compare it with the big top twenty. But I?m doing my best to provide a nice search engine.

The reason I joined this forum is to make some friends, to introduce myself and discuss some points. The first thing I wont to discuss is the old same story, I?m looking for link or banner trade partners or just a few exclusive solid partners. Please feel free to send my a email on [email protected]
The second thing I wont to discuss is the irritating and illegal problem for the world wide TGP market: the parties who serve dialer, virus, ad and spyware infected galleries. Of course I dit something about it like:

· Daily automated scans of all galleries in my database.
· Manual checks on reports of abuse
· A public blacklist of offending sites

My blacklist is a list of banned hosts. This list is daily updated and get bigger and bigger. To do something about this generic problem I share my list with the world. If any of you wont to use this list for his own purpose, feel free and have a look on http://www.askjolene.com/blacklist.html

Last but not least, I?m looking for parties who selling advertisement for TGP?s. Just like I say before, I have over 200.000 daily visitors and run a advanced Paid Listing system which you can compare with Google adwords and Overture. very inaccurate, they collect that shit from people that have alexa toolbars or the alexa shit built into the browser. if you wanna check how your traffic is doing, check your stats..don't check alexa

The only thing I do is to give you a view of the adult part of the net. I do not indexing child porn, preteens and that kind of content. I know, It is impossible to make everyone happy. The relevance of my database changing every day after the update. The user always has a choice to view the gallery or not. That?s not my responsibility.

I see you mentioned problems with redirects, spyware and dialers and shit. Well from a bunch of searches the results were galleries that were submitted to other TGP's. What is most likely happening here is these gallery owners see you listing their shit that was not submitted to you and then redirecting you. They have every right to do so since permission was not asked by you to grab the galleries. I have found many of mine in there and I have no problem with it. This is targeted traffic so I don't mind one bit. Thanks

Your blacklist is FLAWED.

To have a public blacklist with domains of those who did not want you listing the galleries is not only unfair it is also grounds for legal measures in some cases.

For the reasons above, I will not even touch that blacklist and I suggest other webmasters avoid it as well. It is not right to blacklist people for redirecting traffic on someone else's site who happened to not seek permission from the gallery owners to list their galleries.

Other that the unfair and premature unthoughtful blacklisting of domains and publicly slating them as illegal and cheating domains you have a nice site.

crazy-holes.com in the PUBLIC blacklist for redirects? Give me a break. That dude is an honnest gallery builder and submitter. He most likely redirected domains who did not have permission to list galleries. Again, making theese public could really hurt honnest webmasters. You won't last long is this BIZ before yoru ass is handed to you if you don't rectify this.

What happens if a TGP owner see's your blacklist, adds all those domains, all of a sudden these honnest submitters get blacklisted everywhere and current galleries in the TGP databses get erased. You whole site logic is flawed. There is NO reason that blacklist should be public unless your whole database consisted of galleries submitted directly to you.

If I ever decide to redirect you to my 404 and I find my domain in yoru blacklist there would be hell to pay. Now put yoruself in gallery domain owners positions.

What I suggest, and you REALLY should think hard and clear about this. ONLY have a public blacklist for illegal CONTENT, illegal KEYWORDS and people who SUMBITTED TO YOU

Like Google, Fast, Altavista, etc. I just spider the web. I then filter
galleries from the data collected. There's no such thing as
stealing involved, all the galleries I link are freely distributed on the web. Anyone can view them using their browser. The galleries are linked by means of a small summary and a direct deeplink. This is perfectly legal. I can refer to the trials Google, Fast, Inktomi, Altavista, Yahoo, etc. have had on the subject of
deeplinking. This also applies to the picture search (Google, Fast, Altavista).

All the hosts in my blacklist are more than suspicious to serve dialers, redirects or virusses. They serve dialers, redirects or virusses regardless where you're coming from. Hence everyone is affected, not just the people coming from my site.

I think you MISSED my point totaly. Do you see google going around sharing their blacklist PUBLICLY? Of course not. They would be thrown in court pretty damn fast.

I discussed your point with my legal advisors and they recommend me to publish a ?unjustified? email option on my blacklist. I got your point but I?m against aggressive automatic dialer install programs, popups and more of that stuff. I?m sure that the global surfer sharing this opinion. It doesn?t matter if adware and dialers are coming from automatic indexed galleries or manual submitted galleries. It is a global problem. That?s a fact. And it is up to you to do something about it or not. I don?t harm anyone with publishing a blacklist. You still don't get it do you?

Listen, the damagae is already done. From thsi thread alone many TGP owners prolly blacklisted tonnes of honnest webmasters. Dialers is a legitimate form of advrertising. If they should pop a dialer when you listed galleries with NO permision that is NOT their problem it is YOURS. Deal with it. Delete their galleries form yoru database but for teh love of cock don't get them pegged as "cheaters" and bad people. This can be quite damaging to TGP posters.

Example:

You grab a gallery listed at pichunter.com
The onwer of that gallery does not appreciate you linking to them for some reason.
The owner redirects yoru surfers to something he feels better to send them to.
You blacklist his domain.
Owner of pichunter reads this thread and grabs yoru blacklist.
Gallery owner goes to submit to pichunter.com and is denied.
Gallery owner contacts pichunter.com and gets ignored becuase he is pegged as a "cheater"
Pichunter.com shares his blakclist with other tgp's. Eventualy that poor gallery domain owner is blakclisted EVERYWHERE,

You just ruined the gallery owner's day.

You have NO right defaming webmasters when the webmaster didnt even submit to you.

I understand you have a major vendeta aganst dialers, I hate dialers n shit too, trust me, my blood boils. But you have to realize you are not a porn maffia, You listed soemthing without permission, webmasters didn't like your traffic for some reason, so they redicrected you and now he faces possible global blakclist. THINK before you go on crusades.

If you still don't get it then I really won;t bother anymore. You are too stubborn to listen LOL

Of course the funniest thing is that if this site is harvesting reviewed galleries, many very big sites would say the biggest cheat is missing from that blacklist. Hmmm...wonder how you'd go about blacklisting yourself....

LOL, how other sites uses Jolene's blacklist is their problem, not hers. All she's doing is publishing a list saying, in effect, "domains on this list pop dialers or do other stuff I don't like."

If you think popping dialers is enough reason to slap a domain on your blacklist, that's your call. If you don't thing so, ignore Jolene's list! The "blacklisted" domain is damaged by your decision, not Jolene's.

For Jolene to have a legal problem, she'd have to say something untrue about the domains on the list. I haven't gone and looked, but if her lawyers are good they've kept her from doing that.

If she truly says "this domain popped xyz crap for my surfers" she can't be liable for what other people do with that statement. Some people here think it's perfectly legit for a domain to do that; other people don't. But nobody is damaged by a true statement.

Listen, the damagae is already done. From thsi thread alone many TGP owners prolly blacklisted tonnes of honnest webmasters. Dialers is a legitimate form of advrertising. If they should pop a dialer when you listed galleries with NO permision that is NOT their problem it is YOURS. Deal with it. Delete their galleries form yoru database but for teh love of cock don't get them pegged as "cheaters" and bad people. This can be quite damaging to TGP posters.

Example:

You grab a gallery listed at pichunter.com
The onwer of that gallery does not appreciate you linking to them for some reason.
The owner redirects yoru surfers to something he feels better to send them to.
You blacklist his domain.
Owner of pichunter reads this thread and grabs yoru blacklist.
Gallery owner goes to submit to pichunter.com and is denied.
Gallery owner contacts pichunter.com and gets ignored becuase he is pegged as a "cheater"
Pichunter.com shares his blakclist with other tgp's. Eventualy that poor gallery domain owner is blakclisted EVERYWHERE,

You just ruined the gallery owner's day.

You have NO right defaming webmasters when the webmaster didnt even submit to you.

I understand you have a major vendeta aganst dialers, I hate dialers n shit too, trust me, my blood boils. But you have to realize you are not a porn maffia, You listed soemthing without permission, webmasters didn't like your traffic for some reason, so they redicrected you and now he faces possible global blakclist. THINK before you go on crusades.

I removed the public blacklist. I still use a blacklist but I dont publish it any more. So far so good. I was a nice welcome. Maybe not so stubborn, Im just a blond girl :-)

I agree with iwantchixx.

There are people who do not want your traffic and didnt ask for it. They will redirect hits coming from your sote and you will label them a cheater. Feel free to put that person on a personal blacklist but NOT on a public blacklist.
