    Alienware laptop or New Desktop

    So I was shopping for new hardware and i saw the "i need a new laptop thread". I had looked at alienware before but heard nothing but shit about them and their service. This was about a year ago. Have you any of you guys bought a laptop from them in the last year? If so, what do you think?

    I do light gaming (Warcraft 3) so I need a machine that will do RPG's or RTS games, no need for Doom 3 horsepower. I know I would need a desktop for that.

      I dont have a laptop, I have an alienware area 51 desktop and I have nothing but good things to say about both their service, and their products. Never had a complaint about my computer or its performance,.

                      Why pay extra money for an Alien themed computer case?

                      These guys can sell you a smokin laptop or build you a monster desktop. I just got a editing system from them and they are 11 on a scale of 1 to 10

                          all i can say is the dell xps runs laps around the alienware 51m.Ive had both and I am very satisfied with my dell

                                      Alienware Laptop all the way!!!

                                      The Sentia weighs only 3.8 pds., 4 hours of battery life, has a 7200rpm drive, fire wire, 3 USB, DVD/CDR etc...The only downfall is that this unit has a 64 shared video card. If you do not do major gaming its perfect! This is a Centrino based unit

                                      The other Alienware laptop is the Area51 which weighs around 9 pds, but its more powerful. The downfall is the weight and low battery life which is like 1.5 hours. This is a P4 HT based unit.

                                      Hope this sheds some light...

                                              i already have a good desktop, i need something that i can take with me when i'm out of town. that's the whole point of a laptop, portability ;).

                                              the reason i like the alien's is that they are upgradable, vs the dell's and toshiba's.
