Mercedes SL500 & SL600
Been looking at these pretty cars for a long while... but does anyone have any positives and negatives to mention about them? I am a 'Driver', that is I push the cars to the limit in speed & especially handling.

Never driven one, however, I've had the chance of being a passenger in a 94 Acura NSX... If you dont have a deep dark hate of Japanese cars, you'd be pleasantly surprised by it's track/road handling. It weighs almost nothing and has plenty of power, so power-on oversteer is fairly easy, and especially fun in the canyons

defenitely great roadster but if you are ok with money then you should go with new Bentley - its 4x4 and really unique piece of art.
Also don't gorget about CL500

I currently own a Mitsubishi 3000GT, thinking its time to upgrade. The Mercedes AMG seems a little too outrageous on price.... consider its still a car you want to drive on the streets... go to the grocery store... etc...
I test drove the Acura NSX, by far the best handling I've ever seen, but the problem with that car is its just too tiny. I feel I am sitting on the pavement with it.Comment

I've been lucky enough to drive an 03 Euro version SL55 with some minor Brabus upgrades and it is one of the best cars I have ever spent seat time in. ONE OF THE BEST

They are fast as hell.
You can drive it anyway you want. It won't fuck up.

I am sorry but I really don't understand your smile - who would fucking care about factory made tuning man?Brabus is the best tuning company of mercedes so far - can't compare with AMG no way. If your thinking about buying one, don't touch anything before 2002 or late 2001 models.
I have a 600 - 2000 model, a bit too many visits to the workshop I'm afraid.....
I really want a SL 55 AMG, but I'm too young to get insurance for that one her in Spain.
The "limit" before they give you reasonable insurance is 27,
and I still got some years untill that....

I had that model with the 6 cylinder engine. Its nearly as fast as the 8 and much more smoother sounding.
Had 3 560SL's and a 450SL.
All fantastic and last forever. Great cars and highly recommended.
