You don't get scammed unless you're being greedy.
marinate on that for a bit
"Marinate"?
I like a white wine marinade with a touch of lemon.

You're looking on the surface of what I'm saying. It's possible to be scammed without being greedy but it's rare. You get scammed when you get greedy, because you think you're getting a great deal, you're too secretive because you don't want others to know about your great deal, or you think you've found something that's going to make you a lot of money. These are the typical ways scams happen, scammers typically take advantage of the fact that people are money obsessed.
He agreed to make a small logo for Daymare for $100 bucks, which he never delivered or refunded the money. That wasn't greed, that was just him being a conniving asshole.

No, I knew that's what you were leaning towards. You're trying to be all philosophical and anal about retarded everyday shit.
According to you, everyone on this Earth is too greedy for their own good. Fine, you're right. We're all greedy so we deserve to be scammed.

Has anyone ever told you sarcasm is the lowest form of wit?
I tend to see people (including myself on occassion) get scammed more when we become complacent.
This day and age we all look for that glimmer of hope that there are still good people left out there. No one wants to be the paranoid untrusting kind of person so sometimes we let our guard down.

But you're right, I am greedy. Greed is what puts me in front of my computer on a Sunday night building new sites instead of being plopped in front of the TV watching Simpson's reruns.
Greed = motivation ?

I do think that's true in some cases where some of it amounts to wanting to trust and allowing that chance. But I think a larger amount of it is due to being greedy. But you are definitely right that some of it happens the way you put it.

I don't think so man, I think one can be motivated without being greedy. The desire for success alone does not make you a greedy it's how much that desire consumes you and takes you out of thinking in a smart way.

Thought and debate is a good thing sometimes man, I just like to pick brains and debate issues, nothing personal here.
And Sly I think I outlined that, I wouldn't make a personal judgement on you since that's not my place. I think each person can determine what is greedy to them and how it affects them, simply being motivated to be successful doesn't mean you're a greedy person.
The point is ladies and gentlemen... Greed, for lack of a better word is good. Greed is right; Greed works; Greed clarifies, cuts through and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.
Greed in all it's forms; Greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind...

Greed is not a good thing sorry you feel that way. Motivation for success is, but outright greed is not and always leads to a bad end.
You're walking around blind without a cane, pal. A fool and his money are lucky enough to get together in the first place.
I think maybe we're looking at things in similar ways but you don't realize it. This is the definition of greed so if this is good then I'm glad I'm not greedy
excessive desire to acquire or possess more (especially more material wealth) than one needs or deserves
not always true. i haven't been 'scammed' in years (for anything worth complaining about) but in early 99. i just promoted a site, nothing 'scammy' about it, just a regular paysite. i made about 3000 bucks with them in a period. waited my check, waited...emailed them..nothing. of course i didn't know about boards back then, nor did i really know others in the industry so there wasn't anything i could do. i wasn't greedy. i do agree tho that if those ppl promoting the paris scam don't get paid, surely they knew it was a risk.
you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..
