That's pretty cool man. I almost bought the first model AIBO Sony came out with but I decided against it.

(actually, my gf at the time told me I couldn't have one because I already didn't give her enough attention).

Anyway, do you like it? How hard is it to program? How much did you shell out for her?

programming the setup functions were easy, teaching him my voice, snap shot of my face, his name, my name, how to find the charge station, time, alarm, etc. everything else such as walking, chasing objects, tricks, are all self taught over time as you play with him he learns and you pet and praise him "good boy" or "good nemic" there's 100+ voice commands he knows.

it's $1599, after tax and shipping it's around $1700

nope, can't do stairs. the Honda Asimo and the Sony Qrio can do stairs they're Humaniod robots they cost like $50k, not for direct public sale. The sony Qrio supposely will be available in a year or so, they're trying to get the price down.

i saw one a couple years ago, they're pretty badass. a lot of work went into them. be fun to have one, but i'm not sure i could justify that price

I could see me putting out almost 2k and my 120lb akita deciding that the robot looks like a toy, or that it does not move fast enough and crushing it...

The only reason that my parrot survives in this house is because she bites back...

i like electronic gadgets and computers so this was the perfect buy for myself. the whole idea of it having built in wifi and being able to write apps to make it do unique actions sold me on it.

Idea:
You should start a 'blog' of this dog showing the tricks and other shit it learns on a day to day basis and then try setting up a deal with a place that sells them so you can advertise them in your blog. Thats what I would do.. (would actually give me a reason to have the damn thing)
