    'reverse trials'

I don't know if there's a better term for this,
but what is the general opinion about "reverse trials" ?..

*by that I mean a higher signup price and a lower rebill price

    We're trying it right now,
but it'll be months before we see how it affects our rebill average.

Did you lower your rebill price or raise your signup price to get the imbalance between rebills and initial signup?

    Take Luck!

There have been a few sites that do this to try to encourage rebilling members. Should be an interesting experience for you, let us know the result!

        We actually raised both, lol.

We were charging a flat $13.95 month.
But Members and Reviewers all encouraged us to raise it.
Now it's set at $24.70 signup and $17.99 rebill.

So far it doesn't seem to be affecting signups much.

Yeah, I have to assume people had tried this before, but you never see any mention of the strategy on the boards or in articles (nor have I seen it in practice on other sites), so I wondered if webmasters just figured out a long time ago that it doesn't make a difference?

Karadavis.com have gone this way - but though the ratios are way better you don't make a lot of loot with a 6.95 2 day trial signup & 6.95 monthly rebill.

Having said that I don't really push them that much anymore - though I have some pages around that seem to be getting the odd sign up every couple of days. I might consider giving them another push to see how it works out.
