I don't disagree with the over-sexualisation of teenage actresses. I get on my high horse about stuff like that from time to time too. Jodie Foster did it as well when she was younger but she was doing it as an acting role - she was already a good actress and was then allowed to go right back to being a screen teenager by doing Bugsy Malone and Freaky Friday the same year as Taxi Driver.
People like Reese Witherspoon (I just looked up, 27 btw..she is a couple months older than me) will be around because they can act and not all of her roles go around being a sexette and even when she does she parodies it (Freeway is fantastic for that).
I suppose the film companies (Disney included..they just do a better job of pretending them have standards) are just magnifying the ways teens act and dress anyway. In someways I am happy films aren't pretending these days that teens don't have sex or making it only the 'bad girls' that do but on the same accord I know full well that if by some fluke of nature I ever end up having a teenage daughter of my own I will be dammed if they go around dressing like that at 12 and 13.
