shit like this is why i've been a vegetarian for the better part of 7 years... people call vegetarians pussies and hippies or whatever, but when you see what people really do to animals it breaks your heart too much to ever eat them. I realize there's nothing wrong with killing an animal for food, and i don't have a problem with that, I have a problem with how it's done. i personally think that humans should be more concerned about what happens to their fellow earth citizen than about animals suffering...
yes animal mistreatment is horrible but i get more concerned about human suffering.

I thought the first set of pictures and text broke my heart... then I got to the dislocated legs and blowtorch ones...
A blow to the back of the head at the base of the spine could both kill the dog or make it so that it felt nothing, depending on exactly where you hit. These fuckers don't want that. They *want* the pain and fear.
The ONLY consolations I can find in any of this is that is that at least those poor dogs are free of that hell and the fuckers that did it will get it back threefold.Comment

A number of people have pointed out that the amount of grain grown to feed animals for slaughter every year is greater than the amount of grain grown for humans. So I guess the amount of grain grown for human consumption suddenly becomes negligible and we can conveniently ignore the fact that animals are still ruthlessly murdered either way because of your diet, right? Not to mention that the majority of grain grown for livestock is tough as rocks, coarse, and so low-grade that it's only fit for animal consumption in the first place. Spare me the "you could feed 500 people with the grain used to feed one cow" line of shit; it's not the same grain. Then there are the people who jump on the bandwagon with "you could plant billions of potatoes on the land used for cows"--good point, except for the fact that not every plot of land is equally fertile; you think farmers always have a choice on what they do with their land? I have tremendous compassion for the suffering of people as well, don't get me wrong here.
There are as many inhumane things done to children around the world as animals, especially in the impoverished African countries.
It all is saddening that with the amount of people who are good and kind and caring and smart that we can't find solutions to at least make things better than they are for both the animals that get slaughtered for food and are used for research purposes and for the millions of kids who don't eat every day, abandoned or are sick with diseases that we already have cures and treatment for.
So I care and I am spending my years ahead focused on humanitarian efforts as much as I can and trying to get others involved as well. I'm only 2 hands. It takes an army to make people listen and effect change.
I realize the Asian countries have enormous populations that have to be fed, and sadly they don't have a problem with dogs and cats being on the menu. But my God certainly there can less suffering on the animals if they are at least handled with some basic decency. And that goes for the US as well. Although we don't eat dogs and cats we eat other creatures that are grossly mistreated here as well though in not quite as extreme suffering as over though. But its all bad. Very bad. And doesn't have to be that way.
It disturbs me as well that children are dying because of lack of basic medical care in many 3rd world countries. That is just wrong. There shouldn't be a person on the planet who isn't fed, who doesn't have at least some form of shelter, and who can't get basic medical care.
But most people just don't give a fuck about things happening that they can't see or aren't aware of. That's the problem.

Thats exactly right!
There are many fucked up things in this world and many people who know about them, but when everyone says "those people should be killed", "how can they let them get away with this?", it really doesnt do shit cause no one does more than bitch about it.
But at the same time, those few who do actually try often acheive little because they are rather powerless in the scheme of things.
