Lots of room in the new Vette's now. The tranny is not bolted to the engine like before, the tranny is in the back connected to the differental and the driveshaft now connects the engine and tranny together. Cuts down on the size of the drivetrain tunnel/hump inside where your legs are. Also proportions the weight of the car out much better.
Not as roomy as an SUV but most don't buy a Vette for long road trips and going to the grocery store, it's a sports car.

Had tons of room in my Z06. What pushed me away from the Vettes was the fact that if I am laying down $50K+ on a car I want it to feel like a $50K+ car. The entire interior of the Z06 (minus the seats) felt like a model. The dashboard, the console, everything felt like I just slipped into a car I bought off the shelf in the hobby section of the local WalMart.
Throw on top of that, every first year of the Corvette is fucked up. I bought my 2001 brand new off the lot in Atlanta, and the car would do an 'oil change' every 2000 miles. The new all aluminum engine had 'flaws' that caused it to burn through the entire crankcase of oil under normal driving.
Needless to say, traded the car in after 8000 miles... bought a real sports car.
This thread is like music to my ears, keep on going. I like it that the pop-up headlights are gone. It looks more like the Camaro, which btw should also come back.

amen to bringing back the camaro! wtf do people even buy imports when they can work on camaros
thank god the camaro is gone. they lost their ass in the 90's didnt help with the worst exhaust placement in the industry. Did ya love the passenger side bump in the floorboard? Bottom line is NO manufacturer drops a line such as the camaro when its profitable, and almost their flagship to boot. Vette oughta be nice to hear the nasty bugs on first year models. Which vetes have been plagued with since the lovely crossfire injections of the early 80's

$ wise, it is the best sports car for the buck though.
Bahhhhhhh buy a new Vette... they are mint. Little expensive for Germany... but who knows :D
It all comes down to the inside. I just sold my 2001 model. I hate the fact that they have the same cheap buttons and handles as a 12,000 dollar Chevy. It's the little things that make you not "feel" the value.

I love the new look. I am personaly going to hold off and see how things develop the first 2 years of the C6 generation before getting one. The 97-98 C5s had there share of problems. The third year of a new generation is a perfect time to buy if you can wait

Well I really can't imagine... that a new C6 is much more expensive then a new C5 was... I dunno....
Im sure there will be a nice premium of a price on this new generation of Vette..
Besides Ive always been disturbed with the price on any new vettes, seem to be a bit high for what they are, when a 2 year pre-certified Vette really brings in a great value...
For the C5 this was true. Why get a 2003 C5 when you can get the same car 2001 C5 for tens of thousands cheaper..
But with this new C6, im sure TONS of Vette lovers are gunna be considering this one and accepting the premium tag!!

fuck the haters. all that counts is that its an AMERICAN MADE sports car.

Yeah very very true...
The first year of the C3 Generation had problems that needed to be worked out, took a few years to get that generation of Vette right..
This held true even more so for the C4 Generation..
And the C5 first year of that generation had a lot of problems too that took a few years to work out. If you notice the first year of the C5 was alawys the most dirt cheap c5 money could buy for many years.. way cheaper than the next year.
But still. Some of us are really craving this new C6 beast!!!
But in 5 years from now, im sure with hindsight people will be saying the last year C5 is a much better car than the First year C6
Thats why im saying this would be a great time to pick up a C5.
Im sure there will be a nice premium of a price on this new generation of Vette..

Well, lets see what the tag will be... If I had the cash to blow I would certainly have one.
I really like the new Vette.. they changed JUST enough of the body styling to fresehen up the look, but it is still recognizable as a Vette.. Very nice
