You're wrong.

When I was younger, I fell on some hard times. Lost my job, lost my crib, was out on the street and bouncing around friends places trying to get back on my feet. I had no money to speak of aside from what meagre morsels MSS (welfare) would cast to me every so often.

Now, I'm a big guy... 6'2", solid build, and when I was at my healthiest I was around 220lbs (had just a hint o' six pack going on, so my body fat ratio was obviously pretty low). I went from that point down to around 160lbs due to starvation because of that lack of money. I looked like skin stretched over a xylophone.

When I landed a job and started clawing my way back up the ladder, I ate, and I got fatter, and it was the best damn feeling in the world. That weight was a badge of honour... I came back from a point where my body was consuming itself just to survive, to where I could sport a belly.

Of course, taken to extremes it could yield some seriously negative health effects, and I'm back in the gym regularly these days anyways... when I starved, I lost a lot of muscle mass and I still have lingering problems building up today as a result. However, I enjoy the way I feel when I work out.

Not one single day since I put on the weight I have now have I felt 'unhappy' because of it.
