He was forced to live in the basement, forced to eat off the floor, his mother forced him to eat his little sisters shit out of her diaper, held him down on a red hot stove top, stabbed him, tried to kill him twice with some sort of gas poisoning.....

The most revolting case I have heard in the UK since moving here;
Victoria Climbie ..8 years old and tortured to death by her aunt and her boyfriend. She was reported by a teacher to social services and the social worker wouldn't visit her because she thought they girl had scabies. This child was burned, beaten, soaked in freezing cold water and then made to sleep naked in a trash bag in an empty bath, night after night.
It is hard to look at her photo and not cry at how badly she was failed by so many people.
