one of my host had a little down time for of ~2 min
got icq msg.. check one of the sites and it was correct

Chill the fuck out people. This is beta. We are making changes and fixes as we go. The stats reporting that shows the hosts downtime we are having problems with, but if you judge this program by that then you are not very bright. nah it's cool, I just don't appreciate someone calling a BETA program crap. If this host showed 0 downtime he would be all about how great it is. Fact is that downtime is accurate, and is from several of his servers, not just one. I expected a lot of hosts will flame me for this program, but the least they could have done is waited until beta is over. I have yet to see a single complaint from one person who is using this to monitor thier domains. In fact I have seen a couple guys that showed thier host thier downtime and they got credited cash for it. This script was made for me to use for myself. Since I need a dedicated server for it, the server sits idle with just monitoring my domains. So I let others use it for free. I would like to know where this extra 17 days came from that you have been monitoring us? 2 days ago it said 12 days monitoring time.
Is it from the same place the 36 hours of downtime came from?
All I am saying is this thing is not accurate and should not be let loose on the public till it is.

If a hosts has one server being monitored, then after one hour tht would be 60 minutes uptime. If a host has 10 servers being monitored, then after one hour that would be 600 minutes uptime. We are going to change the format to show total minutes only. If you do the math this is the only way to show true % and time downtime of the servers being monitored. As far as not having it public until it is thru with beta, well how else can we know if there are problems are not?Originally posted by Moose

Figured it out after a few hours of investigating this thing as I know for a fact we have not been down and would be gone if we were down for over 30 hours.
We disabled an account for non-payment, this particular account had more then one choker script running. All these added up quick as this customer did not pay his bill. He finally made arrangements with us a day later and we reinstated the account.
Choker you need to take this into account as what is being posted on your website in front of hundreds of webmasters right now is a false representation of hosting companys. There are other bugs I see in this thing, but this one is pretty bad. We do the right thing by cutting off a deadbeat and at the same time it looks like we are the crappiest host on the net.
I am on day 5 of no smokes and getting very cranky.

The above table represents only the servers that have installed our plugin and that this service is actively monitoring. This service DOES NOT take into account server downtime due to DNS problems, sites shut down by the host, acts of God, etc. If the monitored site does not respond for ANY reason BBU will consider this site down and count this downtime up to 24 hours against the hosts total downtime. If I install your program on my server and delete my index.html file like a total noob, then your stats show my host as being down..not my server but my host... which of course would not be true and accurate but it still reflects bad on my host, because it shows them as being down...
untill you fix that little issue of the user being able to fuck it up..it will never be accurate. Not trying to hack on you, but I belive you should have researched this project a bit more before bring it publicIn November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

A newb can delete every page on his site and bbu will still show it as up. What nobody fails to mention is the hosts that are being monitored and are getting NEW clients everyday because of this service. there are only 114 servers monitered right now. Too many variables. You can have deadbeat accounts making a solid host look bad, and you can have crappy virtual accounts on overloaded boxes being compared to dependable dedicated servers.
Also, you might use a host that has the server up, but configured so shitty that you cannot even run your scripts properly. Uptime stats alone is not enough.Comment
