How did you know you needed one? did your tooth slowly start hurting? Were there any warning signs or did it just suddenly hurt really bad out of nowhere?

The tooth in question started out just hurting, and was only singled out when I went to a cleaning about a month ago.

How much did it cost w/insurance and what kind of insurance do u have? I have BlueCross HMO and everything dental is BLOODY expensive, makes me think there is no point in having dental insurance, u have to pay for it all anyways!Comment

Its not all that bad they just hack off the top and drill down through the center of your tooth to remove the root ( that causes the pain )

My wife's dentist is a DUMB ASS. He did the first part of the canal, BUT he didn't schedule her to go back (Michigan dentist policy states that it can't all be done in one shot) and her tooth ended up breaking, so she went back and he did something to put it back together, then it broke again, so now he's gonna crown it.Comment

I would never take on a profession where you have to see so much pain on a daily basis. I read some where that dentist have a high suicide rate.
