    GFY personalities vs. "real" personality

    You always see people on GFY saying that someone is 'just an asshole on GFY, but in person he's a real class act and a GREAT guy!'

    Some notable callous GFY characters like SleazyDream, AaronM, Amp, BradShaw, p1mpd0gg come to mind (feel free to make your own list)

    I'll concede that everyone I've met from online is pretty different in person from their online personality.

    Do we really believe though that a person's online demeanor is completely separate from their TRUE self?? Do webmasters who haven't met SleazyDream really believe that he's a swell guy in person, or maybe still the same rude asshole but too afraid to talk trash in person?

    Surely how someone acts online must be somewhat representative of who they really are?

    Anybody have any input

                      Funny... niether Sleazy nor Aaron M have EVER been rude or abrasive with me and I am an internet and GFY newbie. I have talked to both of them on ICQ and e-mail & the phone at length before meeting them and find them both to be fair, upfront, patient & I must say - quite good listeners & open minded too.

                      It's just the idiot fucktards that they challenge & that set them off and for good reason. So you just have to ask yourself: Do you feel stupid now? Well do you? PUNK!!!

                                                  So it seems as though people think board pissing is just that, board pissing .. and not representative of how someone is in person.

                                                  Maybe it's just a little TOO easy and tempting to say something about a guy's wife online or whatever, but in person the tempation isn't so great.

                                                  I know a lot of it is just for show/entertainment (see - Serge_Oprano), but sometimes you have to wonder when you see guys flaming each other every day.

                                                                                                  I'm the same way pretty much, I only say as much as I need to get by.

                                                                                                  Start small man, practice on the people you're already semi-comfortable around, even if it's family.

                                                                                                                                      Some guy approached me after the PlayboyCash party and told me I have never liked him. He invited me into his limo to party it up at a strip club. They guy refused to tell me his name. My reply was this: "If we don't get along online and you won't even tell me your name then you must be a complete dick." Then I turned around and got in Ken's limo.
