if course, this may not be important to the individual.

My two cents. I think piercings are hot. I have several piercings and had pierced body parts and every's loved them. Some piercings are individual, some are for body sensory enhancement. Nipple piercings generally enhance sensitivity but can migrate out if not cleaned or the body rejects the metal for allergy. Some piercings like tongue studs can be useful for other purposes *grin*, and some are just for show like a belly button ring. Ultimately get the piercing because YOU want it. Dont do it becuase it looks cool, or its the in thing to do. I have several piercings that are just My own way of expressing myself. Nipple piercings will generally take longer to heal, will hurt for a few days and will need to be rotated and cleaned. That first sharp pain when the water hits will remind you they are pierced. Also consider that while the sensitivity may increase, it may be well beyond what you want currently. I know girls that have gotten their cl*t hood done and are just in total sensory overload that they had to take them out. If you do get them done, make sure it is in a sterile clean reputable place. Getting drunk while your friend holds a needle and earing is not considered reputable btw.
I would never tell one to get or not get any body mod since I love them all. Realize the risks and the rewards before doing anything. Its your body, you know it best. There are many many other ways to enhance sensitivity of body parts besides piercings and they are actually more gradual as well so you can gauge the results better.
