    Airfare to London

So I'm searching for airfare prices (I'm going to visit my son in Suffolk in December), and I normally fly either business or first class.

On Orbitz, the price difference between Economy and First Class is over $11,000, wtf?

    Where are you flying from?
I post on GFY so that when people ask me what I do,
I can tell them that I work with the mentally retarded.

      http://www.expedia.com/

Check that site out, they usually give you prices for all flights going in and out and all hotels near the area etc

I'm flying out from Omaha, Nebraska. Airfare prices are usually great when you fly out of here, because we're dead center in the middle of everything (As far as the states go)

              No, really?

I said, as far as the states go, implying that TYPICALLY when flying through-out the U.S., airfare is rather cheap.

Well, part of the problem may be that you aren't going to get a direct flight from Omaha so things add up. Try looking at a continental fair that will let you get on a code-share Virgin plane at one of the international gateways and if it is still too much look at their premium economey which is a step between economy and buisness class. It is better than nothing and it should all be on the same ticket as a Continental costing. When I was a travel agent over here the cost from the UK to most places in the US (depending on the time of year) in business class would be about 3k (british) on the high end but in the other direction it is always more for some reason.

You may find it cheaper to go to Manchester or any UK airport, as to be honest, you can get to London in an hour or two by train from manchester or any other UK location.

You may find London is more expensive.

There shouldn't be any difference in price between flying into London from the states and flying into Manchester and there are a ton more flights to London. Not to mention the destination is Suffolk...London would be the obvious airport choice.

I find I can never get a good airfare online.. I'll often try then go to my travel agent and she's get me a better one in no time flat.
