Tim, Bryan, Ty and I had revenue crusing at 350k a month up from 200k 8 months earlier.
I heard 6 months after I quit their revenue was at 80k. Still enough to live on... especially in Russia.
The domains stopped resolving over a year ago. I noticed one guy hijacked the main one for a while, and was making a whopping 14$ a month off of it....through amateur pages.
A year after I left, the bank came after me for 14k that one of the banks had guaranteed for one of the owners....and the owner never verified something. I was young and stupid and didn't realize that I was still a signer on the account. I guess I could have cleaned out their accounts. Anyway the bank quickly realized that they shouldn't chase a college student that hadn't been with that company for over a year ...for somebody elses debt and dropped it.
Last I heard the two owners moved back to Washington, are completely out of porn, and are selling pure bred dogs in eastern washington/farm country.Comment

A good friend of mine started getting lots of hits to his homepage, where he of course had some porn pictures...
After getting kicked of his free host, he needed money to buy some hosting. So he turned to me for help, this was sometime in 97/98.
I didn't know shit about html or anything, and was still going to school.
But the summer of 98(or 99) we tried spamming some search engines, and things started to take off
Still doing pretty good with them

The combo of wanting to get out of my shitass retail job in a skateboard store when I was at uni, and a friend who owned a cafe over the road who kept telling me all about the money he was making with adult. In retrospect starting in adult was one of the best decisions I've ever made and I never ever regret it.
