British troops have been involved in a violent confrontation with protesters in the southern Iraqi town of Amarah.
At least five people are reported to have been killed when troops and Iraqi police fired on crowds demanding jobs.

That article says the crowd started trhowing explosive devices at the Iraqi police, then goes on to say that the one guy that was killed by British forces had already thrown two grenades and they shot him as he was throwing a third.
