I think it's kind of silly to blindly assume that everyone would know to where appropriate clothes. Yes, it is common sense to most of us and I would have been looking all sorts of sexy, BUT it also would have been very easy for any webmaster to assume that he could have wore whatever he wanted because shit, it WAS a webmaster party and he DID have VIP passes.
Anyway, I wasn't there, had no desire to be there, and am definitely glad I didn't try to go there. I've only been to a couple of the industry club parties so far and my personal favorites have been where most of the crowd consisted of people in the industry. But hey, that's just me.
