I Might Like to Live & Work in Europe

Stellios is one of those highly annoying (in a good way) buisness geniuses. He's like a cult hero in the UK.

Not just easy jet but he also owns Easy Everything, the biggest chain of 24 hour cyber cafe's in the UK, and Easy Car (or Easy rental..never sure) which is car rental. Also owns Easy Hosting or something like that. Everything is Orange.

He earned my respect when British Airways launched their own lowcost airline (called GO) to rival Easy Jet. He booked a bunch of the seats on their first flight and handed out vouchers for free Easy Jet flights. Total class.

Seriously though...the UK has a National Health Service..its not perfect but it is free at the point of delivery (paid through via all of our taxes). People bitch about it but I personally have had treatment (fertility) that would have cost me thousands of dollars in the states. My husband is also diabetic and disabled and they have treated him well overall.

Thing is, no matter where you are based in Western Europe you are only a short flight or train ride away from the rest of the countries. Cheap, no frills airlines mean you can get from the UK to most European countries for less than 150 pounds.

If you are a legal resident in one EU country it is usually possible to do work in other EU countries.

Well i live in Baltimore and if it is health care your worried about i dont think anywhere else in the world could be the Johns Hopkins Campuses we have here. There hostpitals are at least 10 year more advanced then most in the US and Around the world. Plus we have Shock trama Which can get you to one end of the state to the hospital in like 15 minutes

I been toying around with the Czech Republic idea as well. Is it safe for Americans? Easy to get broadband access? Taxes?

I liked Estonia but I was scared the whole time I was there. Finland was awesome but so fucking expensive.

We have good health care here in Oregon. We even have a state-mandated health care plan. However, my problem isn't the quality or availability of care, it's the cost and availability of health insurance. Great health care isn't great if you can't get it.

I stay away from underage content already. If you think that is all prosecutors are interested in prosecuting, though, you are wrong. Also, I would buy my health care, too, if it were affordable. However, if you go to an insurance company with a pre-existing condition like diabetes, the rates you are quoted are not realistic, and subsidized health care is the only rational alternative.

At least we do for the most part get 'free' healthcare in the UK. It can be shaky at times especially if you got something like a hip condition that's not urgent but on the whole it works.
As for Easyjet - Ryan Air beet them on prices recently. I had a weekend in Germany for £4 ($6) each way!!! Gotta love the prices of flights in this country

This is awfully naive. Apparently you haven't even read about the trouble that you can get into by simply TURNING IN a pedo site. All of a sudden they confiscate YOUR computer to see what evidence might be on it. The health care is not given away in the UK. It is free at the point of delivery. There is a difference. It is paid for through taxes.

The health care on the whole is great. No one has to worry about being able to afford going to the doctors. My husbands is always nagging me to get out of my American mindset when I am sick and go to the doctors. Presciptions are about five pounds each unless you have some sort of state benifit and then they are paid for by the government.

I was lucky growing up in the States because my mother is a teacher and we had good health insurance. However, I knew pleanty of people who didn't and let their health go because they couldn't afford treatment.

Saying that, even though my parents had insurance they still struggled to pay some medical bills. In particular when I was 15 we were on a trip to Cooperstown, NY when my appendix decided it was time to come out. It took forever for my parents to sort out that bill because it was out of state and the such.

WOuld never even have to think about that here..just go to the nearest hospital and get treated. My sister was over visiting last year and got pretty ill with what turned out to be a bad chest infection. We took her to the hospital where she got treated without having to worry about a bill. Can you imagine what it would be like if the situation had been reversed and I was visiting her? I would have to wait to go home to see the doctor becuase there is no way I could afford American medical bills.

The biggest problem in the UK health care system is the lack of nurses. They need to pay them more, in short, as they are on low wages and it doesn't attract young nurses.

No offense, but if all the 'sick' people would come here, we have to pay even MORE fees each month for our health care. They are already going up 10-30% this years, because of all the older people here in the Netherlands. I do not think it would be easy, nor are we waiting for ppl to come over for the good HC plans.

I understand your situation, but if you are not getting a job here, you'll be out in 6 months anyway, you would need a permit to stay here, just like we would when we come over to the US.

Besides that, health care won't be cheap here either, no insurance agency is going to accept you without prior records, and when you do, you have to pay more too.

No, what you've posted is false.
Please post the info of five different people who've turned sites into the FBI and then been arrested. You're good at trotting out One case of a thing happening and then saying "it always happends"

It's why I put the '' around the word free. Yep it's gotta be paid for somewhere but the point is you don't need to be able to afford it. It's available for all whether they have the income or not. Other than that agree 100%.
12 clicks - you aint got a clue what you're talking about with regards to the free healthcare bit. There are problems but on balance healthcare here is good and IS free. To clarify 'free' you don't have to contribute in any way to receive it. People are paying for it throught taxes (national insurance) but you get it whether you do or don't. However, I generally tend to agree in that it's no reason to move and the law thing is taking paranoia a bit far. MANY European countries have far more restrictive laws and anal judges/courts.
Either way it's not really a reason to move, as if you are making a reasonable living then they will make you pay one way or another. I'd stop being such a tight ass and get some decent US insurance rather than moving. If you're not making enough to afford it then go get a job and quit porn.
