Full time designer wanted.

Designer wanted to work in conjunction with the MensNiche team on a variety of products.

Hours will be 8 hours a day, monday to friday, relocation is NOT necessary but available communication links such as the phone and ICQ must be on at all times during the ideas decided upon.

Looking for long term relationship after an initial 7 day trial.

Before applying for this position you must be very confident of being able to produce sites similiar to those already in the www.mensniche.com (take a look) and also have ideas and skills to bring a fresh approach to site designs.

The initial 7 day trial will test the speed and the quality of the work and to see if your compatiable with our needs.

Note: My style of criticism is direct, if I do not like something I will not try and make on that I do, i will be direct with no pussy footing about, if this kind of style would cause offence then please do not apply (this as caused problems in past). My other staff also have similiar styles.

Regarding pay this is negotiable.

I wish I was good enough to take this job.

But my :

Your designs are truly great but I find that other designs convert better for me. I prefer designs like blacksonblondes.com

I call your paysite designs "panels" because it's like a full page ad with some links that lead to another full page ad with a link to a sign up form. It's very "showy" as for graphic style but I don't think these type tours really give me a feel for what's really in the site. It's like looking at cereal boxes to me... I mean , Count Chocula is on the box but I know the motherfucker aint in the box.
So what am I really buying? Those models on your tours are screaming out "we are here for show, we aint inside the site".
So if you are selling sex manuals then why try and sell models that aint in the site?

It's too "showy" and too generic IMHO.

Maybe you should consider the ideas of some of those shit designers. They may do shit work but they may actually get the point across better. I wouldn't think I could find any decent advice about "how to please her" by looking at this tour.

Not trying to be an ass here, but I wouldn't advise that you seek a new designer to do exactly what you have now.

a). IMHO: Check out the site before you decide if the content isn't what's displayed on the cereal box. Mens-Network has a model's section with all of our models galleries and photo shoots - along with a heap of other stuff - and when was the last time you bought a magazine that showed off the content of every article on the cover. Even then you had to look inside to see what was there.

b). I've not worked for Darren for long, but I have worked for him long enough to know that he's good people and he has an excellent reputation in the industry. He does have a direct style, so if you don't appreciate a spade being called a spade, don't apply, but if you can take direct praise and criticism and your work is up to scratch, I'll vouch that he's good people to work for. It's not a fault to expect high standards, you should expect that of yourself, and of your team - otherwise what have you got?

I'll look forward to working with whomever wins the position - GOOD LUCK to all candidates that apply, I'm sure that I'll be in touch with the lucky candidate.

i've designed paysites, webmaster resource sites, affiliate sites, clean sites (although not provided in adult portfolio), and content provider sites (video, and live sex). I have some level of Flash design, but nothing to brag about. I also have experience with Print designing. However, if you go this route, i highly not recommend using Kinkos LOL they are just plain morons.

tell me about it. i've been in this biz over 7 years, designing. When it all started out i could charge obscene amounts of money and actually get it. Now days it seems like everyone and their cousins all think they can design. Sure many of them can, but come on, you something doesn't sound professional when a "designer" can charge $150-$300 for an original design LOL can we say "living in parent's basement with no bills to pay?" Well as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
