Popups: Many (32% of sessions have popups)

    Just noticed this on alexa...

The thing is that it's a TGP and it has *no* consoles. How on earth are they concluding that 1/3 of sessions have a pop?

I checked some of my other clean TGPs and they also have levels ranging from 18-37%.

Is this an Alexa fuckup, or some spyware shit?

i wonder if any of your trades have pops.

Is it then possible that alexa considers it the same session since it started from your tgp?

I only trade with clean sites, although it's possible they're doing it on the sly. I run through my trade list every couple of weeks to check all sites are working as expected.

I have noticed that Yahoo's crawler gets confused and considers a toplist click (which goes through a script) as the URL for the site which it gets redirected to.

          eg www.mysite.com/toplist.cgi?out=1234
is listed in Yahoo as the URL for whatever site it redirects to.

          Weird shit.

Looks like Yahoo's crawler understands meta refresh now... if a surfer tries to load the out script on my TGP without cookies enabled, they get a "Please enable cookies" message displayed, and 5 seconds later they get refreshed to a paysite.

If you do a search for my domain name on Yahoo there are 7,500 results... most are the front page of the paysite!!! It looks like a huge SE spam, but it's Yahoo's stupid crawler indexing an intermediate/redirect URL instead of the final destination.

Maybe they consider target=blank a pop up?
