    Need To Get A Dedicated Server For My Dj Website. Can Anyone Help?

    i am looking for a dedicated server for my dj website. i need to move it away from the idiots at ipowerweb, plus i want to stream my music from it. doesn't have to be bandwidth for a million people an hour or nothing. i would say that there will be 20-30 people at a time pulling a 128kbps stream at the most. if someone can help, i would really appreciate it. i know this is not one of your big time adult deals, but i gotta have control over my box, ipowerweb is fuckin killing me you guys. can be windows or linux.

              my price range is 50-70 bucks a month, preferrably 50 cuz i only use it for promotional use. so its an expense, not my main moneymaker. thanks fo the help.

                          im actually hoping that server matrix would pick up on this, we already have tons of boxes with them for videopass.com so i'm thinkin they might be able to help me out since i work for videopass.com

                              Closest thing you will probably find for $50 is managed.com they have $60 servers when they arent sold out... keep checking back. Network has occasional problems tho and support is subpar. But for the price you are asking you cant expect miracles.

                                  yeah, no miracles expected. im talking to the guy from webair about some options. its not like i have paying customers on a dj website with music. they're leechers too, just different kinds. hell, i'll even take cogent!

                                          nice. i will get with ya on that, might be a great possibility. would the connection have a problem with 20-40 people connected. it would be about 6-10mbps, but only on peak times or when one of us is promoting on the radio stations in l.a. or miami.

                                              So, you running this stream 24/7 or just when you have a gig or what?

                                              I could hook you up with a box for like $55.00 a month.. could either cap it, or leave it burstable if you held at like 1Mbps average over a month. You could do like a 64 bit rate, shouldn't kill the sound quality all that much.. this is something we have done in the past, and would be happy to help getting you setup. I assume you would use shoutcast?

                                                                              approximately. So for 40 people he needs 5.1 Megabits approx. Im hooking him up on da side. :-)
