ok, so how many of you designers have been fucked by jeff/perfection girls?

i know i have. did some work for him this summer, and it took him over a month to send only half the payment.

then he continued with constant typical lies he gives everyone, about wires and such.

needless to say, 6 months later or whatever, i still haven't been paid in full.

i know there's a few of you out there he's scammed, or at least tried to scam. i won't name any names, but i'd suggest any of you that'd like to, feel free to step up here.

it sounds like jeff is racking up quite the rep by designers. well, karma's a bitch.

thanks man , but i'm not going to get paid. if i were, it would have been within less than 6 months.

I normally do galleries at $30 each. I offered to do galleries for $20 each for Jeff because he wanted 30. He talked me down to $15 per gallery because he said he wanted very simple stuff, not very heavy on graphics.

After I made some templates he told me he wanted galleries, not templates. So I had to go in and pick and choose images for each gallery and crop the thumbs (I only crop by hand so I can zoom in on the best part of the pics, it increases conversions.) That added ALOT of time onto something I was already being paid rock bottom prices for, but I did it anyway, at the same price. It took longer than expected because of this.

When they were all done he said he really loved them and praised my work alot. He said he would wire the money but it never came and every day he blamed his bank for it. Finally he said he would send me a check via overnight, which he did. 10 days later it bounced. I contacted him and he said he would Western Union me what money he had on him (because the bank was closed and it was New Year's Eve) and he did, he sent $200 of the $450 he owed me. He said he would send the rest on Friday, January 2nd. I still don't have it. No wire, no check, nothing.

I did 30 galleries with hand cropped thumbs and all I have to show for it is $200 and a return check fee on my bank account.

that sucks man, i feel ya. my story is quite similar to yours.

i did galleries first, which he did pay me for. it took about a week to get the first check. the first time was a paypal check, which was canceled on the clearing date (he said his account got zapped). he sent me a check, which he said was returned due to an incorrect name on the address. he sent me a check a week later via priority mail, which i gave him the benefit of the doubt.

then i did a bunch of banners for him, in which he sent me a check for less than half what he owed, plus "$50 for my troubles" (this check took over a month to reach me). since then he's promised god knows how many mailed checks and wires, which nothing came.

fortunately, neither of the checks he sent bounced.

that's the bad thing about karma, it catches up.

I hate that kind of shit. Someone does work for me - I pay em within 5 mins of receiving the work. Cant be ANY excuses with so many ways to get someone money these days over the web.

Fuck the non-payers. I reckon there should be a site or thread at least where anyone who is a non payer is outted so others can know.

this is Jeff's modus operandi - and it is LOW RENT TRASH - he makes people chase him down for the money. Read a post from a few weeks ago from a Swedish teen model - she finally got paid but only after having to chase him down - he preys on honest people. I heard about another model who did the work for him - again she was another person who had to chase him down to finally get paid.

You hire people to do a job - U FUCKING PAY THEM ON TIME EXACTLY WHAT YOU AGREED TO!

That this fucker can afford to go to Vegas and didn't pay you what you were owed is just more evidence of the character of this guy.

sorry to hear you got fucked...that really sucks...

back when i did freelance this shit happened all the time....

i found a simple solution though:

1st:

50% upfront

2nd:

when done give the client a jpg image of the work for approval...once you get approval and the other 50% then send em the final product.
