thanks, Indeed. i came back a lil late on this one. It's not a farse. I was travelling in Europe last year and I happened to meet some "fellow" Canadians so I went over and said "hi" Turns out they were from Dallas, Texas and they said that they did it b/c they were being "mistreated" when they told ppl they were american.
I noticed this when I was in France especially when I was standing in line at the currency exchange booth and there were americans in front and behind me. The one behind me noticed that the lady was nicer to me b/c I was Canadian.
