Help Understanding the rejection letter I gof from Thehun

"Sorry, your gallery is declined:

The ratio between the ads and the content on your site is below the average of what is posted on the Hun's Yellow Pages right now. This doesn't mean your gallery is bad or anything, it just doesn't mean it's not as good as the other ones we get."

What is the ratio between the ads and the content? How do you figure out this average? Anyone know. This is the gallery.

I dont really think he has a set ratio, but on a site like his anytime the ads are more the center of attention then the content your "ratio" is too high

Shitty gallery!

When a visitor first see your gallery they have to see some pics or movies. When I open your gallery I only see one of your ads and much text....

Do like this:
One ad.
Then the movies and after that a new ad.

But what is an add? An add is just any graphic that is not a thumbnail?

Just unlink your header/footer images.

there so close to the ones that say "click here" that it probably wouldnt effect your ctr.

Hmm, I can't really add more video becuase I am giving away like 4 mb already. To give more would be suicide.

I could chop them into smaller lengths but then some tgps wont take my galleries becuase tey want like 15 sec vids.

I think the thing to do is to add pics to it as well and remove some of the adds.

Or just remove some of the adds.

But them some of the submit scrips wont accept my gallery becuase it does not have enough images in it.

So that means that if I really want to use one template for all my submissions I have to add pics. aahhrhhrgggg

Yes add thumbs that lead to pics. That is the soloution

For pics, a decent rule of thumb is 1 outbound link for 5 pics. Movies are little more lenient usually. It seems that most TGP's accept 10 - 20 pics and 4 - 5 movies, so if you can have 10 total links (ads, recips, whatever) with 20 pics you can probably have 3 - 4 links with 4 movies. Just a guess - every TGP is different.

Since yours all go to the same place, you could wrap the top two in one URL, same with the bottom two.

I've read that theHun is really looking for super clean galleries now.

I'd probably clean it up - you really don't need all those links - I'd probably drop both "crazy content" images and only have the "boobs" and "big mpg" linked out.

I'd also move theHuns banner to the top, or lose it completely.

of course, I've never been listed on theHun so your mileage may vary

ad = advertisement to the site(s) that you're promoting.

in this case the ADs are way too big. you don't need all that too make money..

A ratio is the comparison of one number to another.
Like the number of signups you get compared to the number of people you sent to the sponsor gives you a signup ratio. One signup in 500 visitors would be 1:500.

In this case it's the number of ads compared to the number of movies/content you have. 1 ad for every 1 movie gives you a ratio of 1:1. Wayyyyyyy too high.

Your advertising should be about 1:5.
One ad for every 5 movies/pics on your gallery.

With 4 movies this would leave you with the stunning option of ONE ad, which could easily work on Hun traffic if you do it right. Fill the gallery with lots of juicy, sexy text that gets the surfer worked up and wanting to see more, then give him a big bright easy-to-see link to take him to the sponsor. Something like "click here now for instant access" or "click here to see the full-length version".

Big fat font and bright eye-catching colors on the link, make it stand out from the rest of the text and draw the eyes down to it, so that the surfer can't help but look at it.

Your "banners/sponsor out" links are waaaaaaay too huge. The page loads and it looks like an FPA before you scroll down. TheHun doesnt like galleries where the emphasis is on advertising. Lose the header and footer graphics and replace them with 1 text link at the bottom of your vids that says "Click Here To See All These Crazy Ass Bitches" (like your graphic says).

Summary:
4 vids, no graphics, 1 text link at the bottom of your page.

Summary:
4 vids, no graphics, 1 text link at the bottom of your page.

This is some good advice but then there are some gallery sumbmittal scripts that look for more images on a gallery. If they are not there the script will reject your gallery. So In that case I guess I will have to put in some pics too. like 4 tumbs with pics maybe.

Hello Mr. Broke. Thanks for your opinion. And you are correct. This gallery does use a lot of bandwidth but it does get me some sales. I get these galleries to run on several major TGPs right now and I get sales every day with that template.

I never really expected to get my gallery accepted for the hun becuase the odds are stacked very much not to. Even more than that I never expected to get a letter from them telling me why I was rejected.

You correct about the bandwidth though. I think that a major problem is all the foreign traffic from the TGPs. I know these guys are not going to buy but they do have broadband connections.

What do you think about that?

And Broke, I am just wondering, what is it that you do?

I think that those people are just as willing to buy, but have been ignored due to the fact that no one markets to them correctly. I think that is due to the fact that most buyers from the beginning been US based and most people don't have the know how to expand their business internationally.

I think with marketing that speaks to what they want coupled with billing options in their native currency would spike foreign sales.

It's not that hard... I look at this gallery and see the ads before the content... Which is fine, but I get a lot of galleries submitted that put the focus on the content...
