    it's FUCKING COLD out.

    day before yesterday or so it was pretty nice, probably in the upper 40's or so. then yesterday it turned nasty & snowy, and kinda cold. tonight it's just fucking crazy. it's about 0 degrees F out.

    ugh. i wish it could snow and be warm. or something.

                              it doesn't really get below -30 here, but that's fairly rare. -teens is fairly common, and then you get the "zero degrees kelvin with windchill factor" temps. those suck. makes it very difficult to move


                              edit: weather.com says it's 4 degrees, but feels like -13 degrees. i'd say i'd agree with that.

                                                              i try not to drive when it gets this cold out. my truck makes sounds like the metal is about to break from being so cold. i know it's not the case, but it makes me uncomfortable.. lol. that, and when it gets this cold nothing wants to work. the colder it gets the harder the windows roll down, the less the brakes work, the less the synchros work, the clutch complains and gets all sticky, and even the steering stiffens up a bit.

                                                              but the heater, it's got a dragon in the dash. 10-15 minutes, even in this weather, and you've got yourself a face-melting breeze


                                                              but why does the clearing off make it colder? the clouds and precipitation have enough energy i presume to keep it warmer?
