This will only lead to more vicious auto-installing spyware programs.

My guess is that the old established programs with good member aeras and good membership base will keep their payout . And the new ones will drop their payouts of about 5 $ per signup

If people wouldn't spend so much effort trying to defeat surfers preferences draconian measures wouldn't be taken.

I'm looking forward to seeing MicroSoft's upcoming spam killers.

"When you install SP2, Pop-up Blocker is turned on in Internet Explorer and set to the medium setting, which means it will block most automatic pop-ups. The default settings for the pop-up blocker allow you to see pop-ups that are opened when you click a link or button on a Web site."

... oh well, give it a week or two and someone will post some script that beats it.

For a while everyone will switch codes to get around the popup blocker.. but eventually those will all get locked down.

                    We got a while yet..

some big programs like mcaffee and large networks like cj.com use popups alot, i think there will be tons more lawsuits for microsoft until they remove it.

In a perfect world microsoft's solution would work. But they will be under alot of heat on microsoft from companies like bidclix, doubleclick, aol/tw, and all the other big advertising networks.

flash pop-ups that are activated by user clicks do work on SP2, but not pop-ups using onUnload, blur, and other hahahahahahahahahaha commands to activate them. All consoles that pop on exit have not passed our SP2 tests...

of course, if you find anything, feel free to share...
