    Starting 2004 off with a BIG BANG. Choker haters..Here we go........

    2004 is going to bring out a lot of Choker haters. Lets start with just about every host there is. After this new program gets going I have a feeling a lot of hosts are going to wish I were dead......

    New program announcement. http://www.betterbeup.com

    This is a 100% free server monitoring tool anyone can use. Just a simple php script you install on your server. Your sites will be monitored 24/7. When they do not respond, your host will get a email and you can enter up to 3 additional email addys to be notified. It will also ICQ up to 3 people you input it to if your site does not respond.

    Notice on the front page http://www.betterbeup.com that all hosts that have domains using this seervice will have their uptime and downtime displayed for all to see. (this is where the haters WILL come).

    When you have a account there are more detailed stats including MRTG etc. This page is a public page so your host can monitor your sites also.

                                                                                      The script runs a reverse DNS lookup from my admin. this will be easy to spot if a host is childish enough to try this.

                                                                                      As far as the individual servers or network, well if my site goes down as far as I am concerned the host is down, and it will be reflected as such. After every host has several domains and servers being monitored, the numbers will average out. No host will be 100% up.

With this being free and someone not having a monitoring service, I'm not sure why you wouldnt use. Unless your server going down doesnt affect you.

I also entered 2 other icq nubmers so three people total are informed if a site goes down. I also like having the red/green status lights for all the domains on one page. One page I can see the status of all my servers

I have this service already with Interseerer. It e-mails me everytime my hosting goes down and gives me exact reports on how long it was down and when it came back up.
