In light of the coming year 2004 I would like to share some thoughts on the world development.
The 90's started great. The cold war ended, South Africa came to their senses and stopped that rasism bullshit, Israel and the Arabic world nearly achived peace untill in 95 Yitzhak Rabin was killed and all started over.
The economy was rising to an alltime high and the world actually was really confortable to live in as many countries were doing a lot to save the environment.
Let's take a look how it is today:
- A stupid war on terrorism that achives nothing but to drag the world economy down. I at least don't feel one bit safer then a year ago.
- More wars and problems all over the world.
- 3rd world countries get poorer due to the globalisation needs of a view.
- People are loosing more and more of their freedom.
- The environment gets destroyed in an increased rate. Our planet needs about 15 month now to replace as many resources humanity uses in 1 year.
- Greed seems to be more important to people than common sense and it seems no country is able to look beyond their national interests.
As you can see I am not referring to any country or nationality as any of our countries and in fact any of us has to deal with what is going wrong.
I for myself think the world is definatlely a worse place than 10 years ago and I don't like the way the world is moving.
