    Drama: We hired Groovyadultdesign.com 3 weeks ago and he is gone!!!

    as anyone hired this guy or know him?

    We hired him 3 weeks ago to do two tgp's for us - $150 each - we gave him $150 deposit and he designed one of the logos and did a damn good job - then I spoke with him more and he said he woudl get beack to me in a couple days - it has been 3 weeks and he does not answer email, icq and the phone number on his whois said "sorry wrong number"

    Perhaps he is in a coma or something strange.

    Can anyone shed some light on this - or if you read this please contact me asap.

                                                                                      I've had to turn away much-needed work lately because people didn't want to pay up front. I can't do it anymore, though. Not even for people with good reputations. I can't keep working for free. If I'm not going to be paid for something I could be designing TGP galleries to submit myself or spending time with my kids.

                                                                                      I did 30 galleries recently for a sponsor (and gave them a great deal) and after many days of their bank "screwing up my account number in the wire" and such (which may or may not be true, I don't know) AND a check that was Fed Exed to me and BOUNCED, I have finally received almost half of what I'm owed. No, I'm not going to say who it is. I hate doing that kind of thing because maybe it really is true. Who knows? At least I've gotten part of the payment already, so maybe they are really just having rotten luck.

                                                                                      I was also asked to do some buttons and banners for a content provider (again, I won't say who). They gave me no specific instructions, just some very vague comments about what they wanted, and now they have sent me an e-mail that says, "Not what I wanted, sorry." So now I spent my day off creating banners instead of going to see Return of the King which is what I'd planned to do, and I'm not getting paid.

                                                                                      So now I'm stuck with having to decide whether to risk working my tail off for nothing to have a CHANCE to get paid, or turning a job down completely and getting nothing at all.

We used to ship $20,000.00 worth of product at a time to each company and they didn't pay for 30 to 360 days. Just find someone you trust that will trust you and work something out from there.

He did the same thing for me, designed a great site and did it fast, then the rest , the dude just dropped off the planet. Took months to get some paysite designs done. Seems to be a common occurrence with a couple designers on this board that take their sweet ass time.

                                                                                                                          I guess you get what you pay for, the cheaper it is I think most designers look at it like your work is less important. I had good luck with Sharky and AAA Adult Design they were on time, but you also pay for that service and quality.

                                                                                                                          I am sure he will come back but expect alot of time on ICQ fighting & asking for ETA's etc.
