    The Scary Florida 500,000

    A new Florida law going into effect Jan 1 requires the state's 500,000 drivers who are over 79 years old to take an eye exam if they want to renew their drivers license.

    500,000 geezers 80 and up driving cars down here! Holy shit that's unbelievable. I had no idea there were that many on the loose.

                                          My grandfather had three heart attacks WHILE DRIVING when he lived in FL and they never did a damn thing to take away his license. He kept telling us that if the state said he could drive, then he could drive. Oy.

                                                      sheesh, I whould have though there were more than 500K

                                                      It's crazy driving around town here. I've got a bright red 55 chevy that I take out once in a while, and old fuckers can't even see THAT car! They'll pull out in front of me like I'm not even coming down the street! And that car isn't so easy to stop...

                                                          the great thing about florida is no state income taxes. The bad thing is all the goverment agencies are pathetic.

                                                          The dmv's in florida are in run down shopping plazas. Like the size of a hair salon.

                                                          It takes like 2 weeks just to get an appointment, and even with that, once you get there will be waiting 2 hours.

                                                          So imagine being in a hair salon with 200 people, and about 150 of those that can speak about two words of english.
                                                          Ever notice that pretty much everything added to the Constitution after the original was a mistake.

                                                                  Miami and Fort Lauderdale.....all the old people have started moving north towards west palm beach, and west over to Naples and Fort Meyers. A lot of young people started moving into Miami/ft lauderdale and driving the price of housing up, so the older people started getting out about 10 or 15 years ago.
