Port forwarding question......

Is your router listening to external IPs? It may only be configured to listen internally by default.

Can you ping out from your router?

Check your routes on the router....it must be able to reach the outside world, for the outside world to reach it

That's because I listed GFY IP. I am not about to post the IP to my clients network.

Post a screenshot of the diagnostics page where you're trying to input that shit, please.

Ahhh....well externally I can't help you much without the real IP, but suggest doing the following:

run 'nmap' on the real IP. If it shows port 80 open, problem is perhaps your video server.

- try setting the port range * instead of 80 to 80 to see if works or not....

- try accessing it with internal IP if you can

If nmap shows port 80 closed, then your prob is on the router. Again try opening all ports, perhaps 80 to 80 isn't the right format for Linksys.

Are you sure its only using TCP? It might be using UDP as well.

Is there any mention about it using any other ports in the manual?

Why not leave it set to BOTH and not just TCP? Can't hurt..

I had it set to both first...then to TCP only. No mention of UDP at all.

Try opening a DMZ on that IP and see if it works then, if it does, its most likely because theres other ports in play other than 80 which you need to map as well.

I dont know what the Linksys setup is like, theyre pieces of shit, just look for DMZ under one of the settings tabs, and input the last octet of the IP (atleast thats how it is on SMC) and enable the DMZ, then try to connect.

make sure your using a static i.p instead of dhcp i.p

checking dmz

Enable DMZ in Advanced Features of the web configuration screen. For example, if your computers IP address is 192.168.1.102, enter the last three digits, or 102, in the DMZ field.

Yeah...Found the problem.....

I had my Vonage MTA between the router and modem.
