Getting affiliates is hard - any tips?

I released my program yesterday, i am holding the xbox contest (see sig), i posted about the site release/contest on about 10 other boards. Tomorrow i'll be submitting to all resource sites I can find. oh.. i also have lil2rich4u's sig

anything else i need to do? any tips from program owners? thanks

buy some banner spot, also I don't know if you have hosted gals, that is also a good way to get webmaster to join

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Depending on your budget, buy a banner spot here (or on another board). If you buy the spot here, you'll get a sticky post for a while.

To expand on this, you could build a few hundred of them and hook up with Remote Thumbs and you'll likely get a few more new affilates from their program.

Just a little hint, get the main points into a few lines and if the surfer wants to know more he can read the seperate stuff, the surfer doesn't want to read the bible

The average surfers attention span is very low and he doesn't want to read much.Without some punch lines you'll have a hard time with getting some attention.

Remove the TCG in your sig and have your own program.

Start submitting a movie gallery and picture gallery a day or have someone someone do it for you. Remember webmasters surf.

Buy advertising on webmaster submit pages. Entice new affiliates with free hosting?

Find the top ten most active boards and make at least 5 posts a day.

The boards are shit for getting REAL webmasters.

Use ICQ and contact people directly. Have a phone conversation. Get personal with the affiliaites.
Relying on boards to get by = a broke program owner.

I was thinking of giving free escorts at internext to affiliates that do a good job! But the escort service had a 3 girl minimum and I haven't got that many good affiliates. But on a serious note, getting good affiliates is hard... I think being at all the shows will help...

Also offering high payout on a trial will do the trick.

Webmasters generally don't want a 50/50 parternship becuase it makes them a lot less money than a high PPS.

Sorry guys maybe I should have explained it in a 1-2-3 step way so you could understand.

1. Cold contact someone by email or ICQ
2. Call them and talk to them about the program (hard to call if you dont have their number from the previous contact methods)
3. everyone is happy.

I HATE getting called by sales reps. Nothing aggrivates me more. UNLESS I expect the call because it was planned.

Shut up retard. If this board is so lame, then why are you posting on it. LAME! I've got almost all of my affiliates from GFY. Getting your program noticed by adult webmasters is something that needs to happen if they are ever going to become aware of it and think of promoting it. If you have a shit program, good luck where ever you go. And if you are looking to get retail sales, then go somewhere else. Although there are obviously plenty of surfers and dumbfucks like yourself posting here, there are also some real life webmasters that do frequent this place to conduct business and look for good ways to make money.

1 - Meet people for real (shows, parties, etc...). They are much more likely to join if they've met you and know you're not hiding, are cool, etc...

2 - If you can get a respected GFYer to join and he likes it, that will be a big plus for getting word out to other GFYers

3 - Advertise as much as your budget allows

4 - Give it time. As people begin to recognize you, they're more likely to check you out than if no one ever heard of you

* If all else fails, use KRL's suggestion

Offer real tools or services that webmasters may want. Like Traffic tune up or optimization services. Live chat coaching re page effectiveness/traffic filtering. Offer tutorials. Offer tools they can use that are specific to your program.
