there was a series of short skits that used to run on showtime called "the pitch" I think it was showtime. the one about pretty woman was the best. I'll see if I can find a link somewhere...that shit was insane.

I saw Saw at an advanced screening. Pretty good. Reminded me of Se7en. The atmosphere. Very dark and tense. They said it was coming out around September 17th though, so that's not a good sign that it was pushed back. It is worthwhile, but it wasn't as monumental as I had hoped. Cary Elways is kind of irritating in it, but the situations Jigsaw (the killer) puts everyone in are horrifying. I say go see it, but don't expect it to be the best movie ever.

Go see Open Water, everyone who saw it at Sundance said it was amazing.

yeah, I've heard from a few who have seen it about the comparisons to Se7en...

Yeah, it's weird it was pushed back from Septmeber 17th to October 1st, but maybe they wanted it out closer to Halloween as the word of mouth has been pretty good (at least in the horror circles).

It'll be interesting to see Danny Glover in something where he doesn't keep saying "I'm getting too old for this shit" ;-)

I have high hopes for Open Water as well (especially the more read about it). The fact they are working with real sharks and not mechanical ones should add to the realism.
