Diet question/calories

As far as I know if you eat less calories than you use per day you lose weight, right?

Does it matter what kinda calories? What is the different between drinking 1dl of olive oil and eating 10kg of carrots (let's say they have the same amount of calories). Is there any difference?

I only mean considering loseing weight. Nothing to do with vitamins or other stuff.

Does it make different if you eat 10 times a day 100 calories each time or 1000 calories one time?

If so what?

I am not looking for a miracle diet like atkins or other suggestions (also no pic for you surferboys). I just wanna know what , if any different is there in calories.
