As you know, surfers who want to verify their age with a ss or dl number have to fax us a copy of their card, and we then confirm it and send them an email with their username and password. The problem is that this takes at least 7 days. Even though our poor overworked staff moves as fast as possible, it still takes an average of 7-10 days to verify, while people with credit cards and checks get verified instantly and get to enter our site right away.
We get a lot of complaint emails about this and we agree that it's not fair! Why should someone with a credit card get in faster than someone without one! Well, the reason right now is that we are able to do cc and check verifications online but for ss and dl we have to go through the damn dmv! And you all know how slow the dmv works!
We are building a new system for you guys without credit cards. This new system will allow us to verify your dl or ss number electronically and will reduce verification times to 12 hours or less. It's still not as fast as cc or check but that's only because we have to wait for you to fax us copies. From the time we receive that, it will only take us 2 hours or so to verify and send you your user and password! The new system will be up on Mon 05 Jan 2004.
We apologize for this inconvenience and are working hard to reduce the wait time for you. So either come back on Mon 05 Jan 2004 or if you absolutely want to get inside right now use a cc or personal check for age verification and you will be in within 2 minutes.
